FE&JUada Comics

Among many of the delicious dishes of Brazilian cuisine – such as fish stew ‘Moqueca’, sugar cane juice ‘Caldo de Cana’, corn cake ‘Broa’, and cheese bun ‘Pão de Queijo’ – there is also ‘Feijoada’. ‘Feijoada’ is a traditional Brazilian stew of black beans and pork, usually served with rice, shredded kale, orange slices, and other side dishes.

Inspired by the name ‘Feijoada’, Julia Nascimento and Felipe Kolb Bernardes took the beginnings of their names to create FE&JUada Comics. Their comic is a two-year slice of life collaboration project depicting life and adventures as foreigners in Japan. Satirical and light-hearted, the comic also portrays the hardships of making a comic itself.

The story Deadlord, from issue #2, was selected for the comics anthology competition Wake Up, announced during FRAME, the 1st Prague Comic Art Festival, and publish by Centrala in 2017.
